
Fred Lewis was born in Farmington Maine and lived through high school there until studying abroad in Norway his senior year. After a year of working on a fishing vessel in Norway after high school, Fred joined the Army as a Korean Intel Analyst, serving 7 years until becoming a Green Beret Medical Sergeant (18D) and another 7 years until being separated medically due to injuries he sustained in OEF in 2008. Fred went on to receive a degree in agriculture. He taught combat medicine for SOF, High school biology, and middle school history. Fred competed on American Ninja Warrior twice and appeared on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge before joining Gold Rush on the Discovery Channel where he helped veterans learn to mine for gold for three years. Today Fred teaches combat medicine again on Ft Bragg, NC.
